QPR midfielder Adel Taarabt has once again continued his war of words with manager Harry Redknapp by claiming that he does not know why he is not being selected for the matches.
The enigmatic Morocco winger has not started for the club since August. He is also looking unlikely to change that in the coming weeks since QPR appear to have found form at just the right stage. They have played extremely well in the matches against Chelsea and Liverpool. Redknapp recently criticised the winger for being not fit for selection, but Adel Taarabt hit back by saying that the manager did not have any idea about his fitness.
Taarabt has had an up-and-down career in the last five years. He has featured for clubs in the Championship as well as playing for elite clubs like AC Milan.Taarabt has recalled that he managed to keep the likes of Kaka and Robinho, who are considered as some of the best to come out of Brazilian football in the last decade, out of the first team when he was at Milan.Taarabt made only 16 appearances for the Italian club and he scored four goals in these matches. His most productive spell with QPR came during the 2010-11 season when he scored a spectacular 19 goals in just 44 matches.
“He spends most of the time in his office but when he gets off the phone he comes down to watch for five or 10 minutes - he never takes a session. That’s when he said he had it in mind to start me against Liverpool. When I was playing at Milan, sometimes Kaka or Robinho weren’t getting in the team. Then I come to QPR, and that’s not to disrespect my team-mates because I have a good relationship with them, but I was surprised I was not in the squad,” saidTaarabt.
